The Azores
Have you heard of this island chain in the Atlantic that is technically part of Portugal? The picturesque landscape is dotted with hydrangea bushes which are used instead of fences to indicate land boundaries and is home to the only tea plantation in Europe.
These 9 islands are very Instagram worthy, each with a slightly different personality. The Azores will bring you hot springs, delicious seafood, lush rolling green hills, and so much more to explore on your honeymoon.
The Algarve, Portugal
Okay so we obviously love Portugal, but what isn’t to love about this incredibly affordable, stunning European country. The Algarve is on Portugal’s Southern coast and is covered in striking sea caves that you can explore all day long and then meander your way back through the streets for a glass of Port and some seafood.
There are some vineyards in the area for a little day-trip and so many beaches – some of which are super secluded if you’re willing to make a 15 minute walk down a slight cliff!
Ireland
Europe isn’t exactly known as the most budget friendly place, however, have you seen the affordable flights Norwegian Airways offer to Dublin? As cheap as $99 each way, this means you barely need to allot budget for your flights and can spend money on staying in quaint little Irish inn’s as you drive around the countryside of the Emerald Isle. Find charming towns, thick accents, and endless beautiful scenery on Ireland’s West coast.
Dublin is an essential stop and if you can’t find a good deal on a hotel there are plenty of Airbnb’s available near the Temple Bar area aka the tourist center. Cozy up together with a pint of Guinness or some Irish Coffees while listening to traditional Irish music and enjoy all this mystical magical land has to offer.
Quebec, Canada
Looking to getaway to a distant land but perhaps you don’t want to go somewhere too distant? Get that European feel in Canada’s French speaking province of Quebec. Montreal is a treat and you two will feel like you’re in a faraway land indeed. Are you music enthusiasts? Check out their world renowned Jazz Festival which takes place in September.
Quebec is also a beautiful spot for a winter getaway with plenty of chateau’s and ice skating for you to get those Insta worthy #honeymoon shots.
Bonus – everyone also speaks English.
Cambodia
We’re not going to lie to you, the flight is definitely not going to be $99 to get to Cambodia, however once you get there you will absolutely struggle to spend money. Siem Reap is a great place to go for those looking to getaway from it all and be totally immersed in a new land, you can explore the famous temples of Angkor Wat and learn about the Buddhist/Hindu history behind this beautiful country.
A trip to the coast will bring you to some of the most stunning and secluded beaches in the world.
Bonus – the food is AMAZING and the beer is CHEAP. You can live like kings and queens here in luxurious accommodations that would cost 20x more in the States.
Riviera Maya, Mexico
Though you’ll fly into the airport at expensive and party-centric Cancun, a 40-minute journey down the coast brings you to the cute town of Playa Del Carmen complete with amazing restaurants, bars, and beaches. Another 40 minutes down the coast brings you to Tulum where you’ll discover the Mayan ruins and the laid back vibes of this hippie-mecca. Find vegetarian restaurants a plenty and yoga classes on the beach.
Beautiful natural sinkholes called cenotes are dotted all along the road from Playa Del Carmen to Tulum which are easy to get to and amazing to visit.
